There are currently 29 qualifying conditions for the New Mexico Medical Cannabis Program. They are listed below, alphabetically.

Please Note: Write-In Diagnosis are not accepted in New Mexico. You must be diagnosed with one of the underlying conditions.

HOWEVER, if you do not have one of these conditions and we or your primary care physician think that medical cannabis would be beneficial to you, a petition can be filed with the

Medical Advisory Board.

  • Alzheimer’s disease

  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease)

  • Anorexia/cachexia

  • Anxiety

  • Autism spectrum disorder

  • Cancer

  • Cervical dystonia

  • Crohn’s disease

  • Epilepsy and other seizure disorders

  • Friedreich’s ataxia

  • Glaucoma

  • Hepatitis C infection

  • HIV/AIDS

  • Hospice patients

  • Huntington’s disease

  • Inflammatory autoimmune-mediated arthritis

  • Intractable nausea/vomiting

  • Lewy body disease

  • Multiple sclerosis

  • Obstructive sleep apnea

  • Opioid dependency or other substance abuse disorders

  • Painful peripheral neuropathy

  • Parkinson’s disease

  • Post-traumatic Stress Disorder

  • Severe chronic pain

  • Spasmodic torticollis

  • Spinal cord damage

  • Spinal muscular atrophy

  • Ulcerative colitis
